今回は、Buster Baxterが、猫を助けた事から、一躍町の人気者になって、鼻高々・・・というストーリーです。

"This is terrible, just terrible," said the woman as she threw her hands into the air. "I need help, but I'm afraid to leave. What will happen to my kitty if I do go?" She squeezed her hands together. "Something must be done!"

"Don't worry," said Buster. "Such a little cat must still have all of its nine lives. So he'll probably be all right. Anyway, cats have too much sense to ---"

と、助けを求めた女性に対して、Busterが言っているセリフに注目です。

これは、A cat has nine lives.という諺を下敷きにしています。
「猫には９つの命がある」（なかなか容易に死なない、しぶとい）
[ウイズダム英和辞典]
という意味です。

さて、天狗になってしまったBusterに対して、Arthurたちはヤキモキ、なんとか元通りになるようにと働きかけます。
一件落着して、この物語も終わります。
